how to get the above hei beast sudo apt-get install adobe-xpi I'm having issues with Xubuntu. I did a minimal install, and then tried to do a full install, and the apt-get installs are hanging with no output. They can be canceled, but they don't give output. When I look at the log file, all I see are dependency errors. Is there any way to restart the apt-get installs? Basically, I need a way to start them over again. dorian42: Does sudo apt-get install -f not work? dorian42: the 'less' command may be helpful, i've used'more' before but you need to be a bit more familiar with what's going on, so it's hard to predict what'more' will do at times brunch875: It only finds a few packages that are no longer available. dorian42: Normally this is what happens when you don't manage the dependencies yourself dorian42: Did the package managment system break? I don't know. It might have been just me doing something wrong. I can't find much about it in the documentation or on Google. I don't know either dorian42: by how/when it's hanging, do you mean that you just see a command line and have to hit ctrl+z to get back to it? I only use the terminal Yes. It shows a command line with no output. dorian42: something is blocking it and that is why it's not outputting, but you may have to be more specific I hit ctrl+z to stop it, then I did the install -f, but it can't update or remove packages, it just tells me there are broken dependencies.
